My path into teaching has taken an unusual route. After a life as a military wife, and many moves around the world, I decided in 2001 that the degree which I received many years ago before could still be of some use. I had decided to pursue my master's degree in 1997, so armed with these degrees and a lot of enthusiasm, I entered the field of teaching and have never looked back. I am in my 10th year of teaching and I have had many positive experiences and have grown in so many ways during those years. I teach Independent Living, Nutrition and Wellness, and Teacher Cadet/Teachers for Tomorrow. I consider myself fortunate to teach these fun, interesting, and relevant courses, and I encourage all students to elect FACS courses at some time during their high school career.
